I love having family photos on display around my home!
Since I have so many pictures and frames on display, I wanted to do something a little bit different than just a regular frame, so I painted my own.
I picked up these unfinished wooden frames from the craft store.

First I painted both of the frames white.
For the zig zag frame I used black paint with the chevron stencil. Once that was dry, I sanded the edges down really well, and gave the frame a coat of satin varnish top coat.
For the gold frame, I used a polka dot stencil with gold craft paint. Then I rubbed aging varnish all over it and wiped it off. You could also use stain or brown stamping ink. Then I gave the frame everything a topcoat of satin varnish.
These DIY painted picture frames could so easily be customized to fit any decor!
