How to make a felt pennant!
See full disclosure policy here.
I have a Christmas craft for you today!
I'm on a freezer paper/silhouette/fabric paint kick lately
and this project goes right along with that.
Just like this project,
I used my silhouette* to design the image and
cut freezer paper*.
For the images, I spelled out the words I wanted.
Then stepped down the font size to make
the letters get progressively smaller.
Before cutting, don't forget to flip the image
horizontally. Also when putting the
freezer paper on the mat, put the shiny side up.
After the paper is cut,
iron it to felt.
I used inexpensive sheets that can be
purchased at any craft store.
I set my iron to a 3 to keep from burning the felt.
I used white fabric paint* and a sponge pouncer*
to apply the paint.
After the paint was dry
I used my rotary cutter*, ruler and cutting mat
to cut the felt into a pennant shape.
I did not measure; I just eyeballed it.
I cut small strips of a different color of felt
and hot glued them on the straight edge.
I hung the pennants on a chicken wire board
on my mantel for now.
But I'm pretty sure these are going to go on my Christmas tree!
