DIY Dollar Store Magnets

Today I'm sharing DIY decorative magnets.

Magnets are one of those
things that we all use,
but don't think too much about.

I found these colorful clip magnets,

and these button magnets at the dollar store.
I knew with a little effort,
they could look so much better!

I spray painted the clip magnets
with 2 coats of good, black spray paint.
Make sure your spray paint is formulated for plastic,
to get good coverage.

They turned out really well.

And they match just about anything!

For the other magnets,
I only wanted the magnets not the plastic part.
So I put them into a baggie,
and hit them with a hammer (I really enjoyed this part)
until the plastic was broken.
Then I dug the magnets out.

I bought these acrylic die cuts on
clearance at Hobby lobby,
and I thought they would make cute magnets.

I just hot glued the magnet to the back
of the acrylic shape.

Super simple!
