I don't know about you, but in my house- counter space is at a premium. I don't have much which means storing my bananas in a cute bowl on the counter would take up precious room I need to use for more important things like making my beloved pb&j!
I cannot have that, so I had to come up with another solution to store my produce. And that solution is a Hanging Produce Basket!

One wouldn't think produce storage would be that big of deal. But seriously, this took me forever to figure out. I tried a bunch of baskets and bowls but didn't love any of it. I should have known that
my trusty Target would have the solution.
I found this hanging basket at Target I liked the gold color. I toned down the brassiness with a light coat of black spray paint.
I distressed it slightly with sandpaper to allow some of the gold to peek through.
To hang on the top of the basket, I made a Market Fresh sign from a scrap piece of wood in my garage. I used this tutorial to make the sign with a design from the Silhouette Store.
To attach the sign, I used a small metal mending plate that I slightly bent to go around the metal bar of the basket. Then I screwed it into the back of the sign with a screw on each side.
The metal basket has keyholes on the back for hanging. I decided to use Command saw tooth hangers to hang it without damaging the wall.
Once the basket was done and hung on the wall, I filled it with produce.
This Hanging Produce Basket works well to get produce off the counter and save precious space. The bonus is that it makes a cute piece of decor as well!
